FAQ

What type of people are you looking for to test your mobile app?

We are actively looking to start onboarding users that are:

  • Comfortable with early release software: just like with every beta program, there’ll be glitches here and there.
  • Open to providing feedback: we’ll send you some short surveys and may contact you to get your thoughts on how we can improve the features and content of the app.
  • Diverse: to ensure the app helps more people get smarter faster, we’re looking for a diversity of testers — who will help us improve the app by sharing their unique perspective.
What does it mean to be a beta tester? What do I need to do if I am selected?

If you get selected as a best tester for our app:

  • We’ll send you instructions on how to install it.
  • Once installed, we’d appreciate if you start using the app daily and share your feedback with our team regularly.
  • Submit bug reports by answering some short bi-weekly surveys we’ll be sending to all beta testers (optional).
  • Meet our team in person / in video chat to share your thoughts (optional).
How often will the app be updated during the beta period? How long will this period last?

We hope to make updates to the app every two weeks during the beta period. We are not yet sure how long the beta testing period will last.

Why do I need to sign in to use the app?

In case of any issues with your app, we want to be able to make sure we can get in touch. Also we will occasionally reach out to users to better understand their usage of the app.

Can I leave the beta program if I don’t want to participate any more?

Yes. All you need to do is to uninstall the app.

What happens after I apply to become a beta tester? When will I hear back from you?

Our team will reach out when we are ready to onboard you. We don’t have a timeline yet - but we hope to onboard as many users as possible to benefit from your feedback.

I am a beta tester but I am having some technical difficulties. What should I do?

Just email [email protected] with the issue you are having. Please include in the email you send us the following information:

  • Operating system (iOS/Android)
  • Operating system version (e.g. iOS 13.3). To find out what version your phone is one go to whatsmyos.com.
  • Device (e.g. iPhone 11)
I am not a beta tester yet. What can I do in the meantime?

We are onboarding new beta testers every other week. In the meantime, you can either subscribe to one of our newsletters or add Axios to your home screen:

  • If you're using the web (Chrome or Safari) to access Axios on your mobile device, you can add Axios to your home screen.
  • Go to Axios.com in your Chrome mobile browser
  • Tap the three-dot button
    Tap Add to Home screen
Tap Add when you see the Add to Home screen prompt
  • Add Axios.com to your home screen with Safari:
Go to Axios.com in your Safari mobile browser
  • Tap the share icon
In the bottom row, find and tap Add to Home Screen
I really want to become a beta tester - what can I do to improve my chances of getting selected?

Send us something with chocolate and we may bump you up on the waitlist. But in all seriousness, if you are excited about testing the app, fill in the form and we’ll do our best to onboard you as fast as possible.
