Human rights investigators at the United Nations are saying that Facebook played "a determining role" in disseminating hateful rhetoric in Myanmar, Reuters reports. Close to 670,000 Rohingya Muslim refugees have fled atrocities in Myanmar's Rakhine State and the U.N. is investigating a possible genocide there.

David Rhodes, president of CBS News, told a conference in Jerusalem hosted by Israeli media giant Keshet that the delay behind Anderson Cooper's "60 Minutes" interview with Stormy Daniels is because there's "still a lot of journalistic work to do" rather than the threat of legal action from President Trump, Variety reports. He promised it would air soon, adding, “It’s hard to know [what its impact will be] in advance, especially since so many controversies in the current political environment have not necessarily broken the way you would expect them to."
The big picture: The narrative around Daniels, a porn star who allegedly had an affair with Trump and has since filed a lawsuit against him, isn't going away. Trump's lawyer, Michael Cohen, has said he paid Daniels out of his personal funds as part of a non-disclosure agreement, but Daniels said Trump never signed it and that Cohen was intimidating her "into silence."

Apple has acquired Texture, the online news service dubbed "the Netflix of magazines" that lets users access to more than 200 magazines for $10 per month. It's expected to continue operating as a standalone service.

Republican FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr told Axios Monday that he’s looking forward to addressing state and local regulations he believes might be holding up 5G deployment. He also addressed the recent backlash against large internet companies and said he hadn’t been contacted by a watchdog probing the agency’s chairman.
Why it matters: Carr is the newest member of a Republican majority at the FCC that has been methodically deregulating the communications industry, which has implications for tech, media and telecom.
Facebook is getting ready to launch a news section for its Watch platform and it's testing different video partnerships with roughly 10 publishers, Axios has learned.
Why it matters: This would be the first standalone news product for national news in Watch. The tech company previously launched several products, like Instant Articles and Facebook Live, with an array of publishers which included but was not limited to news companies.
