Magna is one of the best areas to see holiday light displays, with fun shows glittering on block after block — and not just at the famous Miracle Cove.
The intrigue: Magna is proudly working class, with a median per-capita income on Salt Lake County's lower end.
- It's one of the areas where you can see how Utah's holiday spectacles span income brackets, with blowout shows in almost every zip code.
Zoom in: Look for blocks and cul-de-sacs where multiple houses go all out, which adds to the glow.
- We've marked tons of spots on our map of 140 free Salt Lake County Christmas light displays.
Let's start with the biggie.

Miracle Cove is the county's most elaborate Christmas street, with house after house arrayed with lights, blow molds, inflatables, sleighs, nativities and candy canes.
- It's nearly impossible to take a photo that does it justice; check out this drone show for the big picture.
- Residents tell me it started years ago with a two-house rivalry — and now folks have begun to monitor real estate on the street, in hopes of getting in on the show.
The neighborhood around Jean and Rulon streets has multiple elaborate displays.
- The biggest is on Jean Street near 3100 South.

Nightmare on Clown Street turns a Halloween display into a Christmas carnival filling two yards on Brud Drive across from Kilee Court.
Synchronized light shows time flashing displays to music that plays on short-range radio stations. See them at:
- Mesa Garden Circle
- Flagstone Drive across from Addison Court
- The west end of Dalmation Street

For fun inflatables, head to Franklin Circle.
- On your way, check out the nearby yard full of Christmas dachshunds on Magnolia Drive.
See the life-sized Whoville at 6485 West and listen to the great Boris Karloff tell the tale on your radio.
- Swing by Williamsburg Circle on your way.

As you head east, check these biggies in West Valley City on your way:
- Snowglobe Lane is a wall of glitter, starting with the dancing lights on 5450 West near 3500 South.
- A few houses put on a cute show near 4275 West and Volta Avenue. Nearby 3722 W. 3870 South is also a must-see.
- Lights on Sugar Beet is a great synchronized display.
- Take 3100 South to enjoy some fun houses you can't see from the freeway.
