Café Reconcile has a great vegetarian poboy

What I ordered: A blackened portobello poboy ($12).

• It's already a great value for the sandwich, but the dish also comes with a cup of gumbo or a choice of sides. I opted for the gumbo.
• The poboy itself is piled high with well-seasoned, meaty mushroom strips plus grilled bell peppers and onions, and fully dressed with lettuce, tomato, pickle and mayo.
• There's something slightly sweet to the veggies but it's all so good that the sandwich was gone before I could figure out where it's coming from. (Whoops!)

Worth noting: It's a messy sandwich, but the soft bread somehow keeps it all together. Just leave those toothpicks in until you're forced to take them out.
