Louisiana leaders have big plans for Super Bowl LIX, which New Orleans will host on Feb. 9, 2025.
Why it matters: Tourism officials estimate the event will mean at least $500 million in economic impact to the state.
Driving the news: Gov. Jeff Landry, Mayor LaToya Cantrell, Saints owner Gayle Benson and other state and local leaders gathered Wednesday at Club XLIV at Champions Square to officially kick off the march to the country's most popular sporting event.
- It will be the 11th Super Bowl in New Orleans.
The latest: The game will be at the Caesars Superdome with many other events around town. Officials say they expect at least 125,000 visitors.
Here's what we know so far about Super Bowl LIX:

Renovations: The Superdome is feverishly working to complete a $500 million, multi-year renovation that updates entrances and adds food/drink options and more bathroom stalls.
- It's expected to be finished in July, says Doug Thornton, senior vice president with Superdome operator ASM Global. That's just in time for Saints season and Taylor Swift's sold-out shows.
- 2025 also marks the Superdome's 50th anniversary.

Logo: Tahj Williams, the queen for the Golden Eagles Mardi Gras Indians, designed the logo in her beadwork style.
- It's the first time the NFL has collaborated with a local artist to create the Super Bowl logo.
Music: The halftime performers aren't usually announced until a few months before the game, and Lil Wayne is "praying" to get the call.
Tickets: On Location is offering Saints fans early access to Super Bowl packages now.
- General seat tickets usually go on sale in the fall.

Vendors: The New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee is encouraging businesses with minority, women, disabled, LGBTQ+ and veteran owners to register and compete for contracts.
The teams: It's too early to say, but more than one person on Wednesday talked about their desire to see the Saints in the big game. Who dat!
