Chicago is a town of many pizzas, but the tried-and-true style we regularly enjoy is tavern style.
- Don't get us wrong, sometimes deep dish hits the spot.
Yes, but: For birthday parties, post-16-inch and Friday pizza night, thin-crust is where it's at.
Flashback: We recently duked it out over our favorites, and as always, we asked readers to weigh in.
State of play: You all really delivered! From North to South Side, near suburbs to Kendall County, Axios readers told us their favorites.

"Martello's on Armitage in Hermosa, family-owned, cheap, and awesome. I think it's still not very well known but it should be!
- Vito-Angelo's on Fullerton, old-school family place, open since the 1950s, with Faulds ovens.

Try Villa Napoli Pizza in Norridge on Lawrence…perfect mix of sauce and cheese on top of their crisp thin crust. It's a great throwback to the era of tavern style pizzas. – Victor C
