Despite Chicago's national reputation for deep dish we all know square-cut, thin-crust pizzas reign supreme at bowling parties, union meetings, sports gatherings and easy dinners.
- But where do you find the best? We're fighting about it this week.
🦊 Monica's pick: I recently had a fantastic tavern pie at Zarella's Pizzeria & Taverna in River North, but Caleb Williams has already called dibs, and I don't wanna look like a copycat.
- Instead, I got foxy with a pie from the 62-year-old South Side institution Fox's Beverly Pizza Pub, where the cooks bake the sheet-rolled dough on coarse cornmeal and top it with tangy sauce, gooey cheese and juicy, fennel-forward sausage. 😘 I got a large for $25.59.

Justin's Pick: Anyone who knows me knows I can't take my mind off Pizz'amici in West Town. It's the best thin crust in the world. But I've written extensively about them, so instead I'll go with my family favorite: D'Agostino's.
- It's the closest thing to comfort food for me. It reminds me of all the pizzas of my youth and has amply fed me for months out of my (relatively) young life.
- Ingredients: Cheese. Sausage. Repeat. 16-inch, $21.95.
- They have two locations in Chicago. I go to the one in West Town now, but the granddaddy is on Southport by Wrigley. Tell 'em the Kaufmanns sent ya!

Carrie's Pick: It's difficult for me to rank any pizza above my childhood fav — Capri in Rockford. Dip it in their signature olive dressing. You know what? I'm already on I-90.
- Keeping it closer to home, I'm going with a 14-inch veggie from Michael's in Buena Park, with mushrooms, hot giardiniera and green peppers. ($22.30)
- It's cracker-style, topped with a slightly sweet, fennel-forward sauce. Order it extra crispy.
- I have fond memories of eating Michael's with friends, usually alongside cheap pitchers of beer. These days, I'm more of a club soda or one-beer gal, but the pizza still hits just right.
