Thin-crust pizza place Pizz'Amici brings back Chicago favorite

Tavern-style pizza lovers bemoaned the loss of Bridgeport's Pizza Fried Chicken Ice Cream in 2022, but one of the creators is back with a new pizza spot in West Town called Pizz'Amici.
The bite: The sausage pizza. For a reasonable price ($20, plus toppings), look forward to an irresistible pie with minimal ingredients that forgoes extra cheese, instead relying on the balance of incredibly tasting sausage and the cracker-like crust.
- It's startling how many pieces you can eat in one sitting.
Flashback: After Pizza Fried Chicken Ice Cream closed, the creators opened new spots and popups, namely Kim's Uncle Pizza in Westmont.
- One part of that Kim's Uncle group split off and has returned to the city with this brick-and-mortar spot nestled on West Grand Avenue near Salerno's and Bari Foods.
The bottom line: This picture is worth a thousand words...
If you go: Be prepared to wait. They don't take reservations (yet) so the small storefront gets crowded quickly.
