This weekend, celebrate Subterranean's 30th anniversary, cheer on the Chicago Blackhawks and take in a film at the Black Harvest Film Festival.

Celebrate the classic Wicker Park club's 30th birthday.
What to expect: Stroll down memory lane with a display of iconic concert posters from 30 years of rock shows at the venue, including Lee "Scratch" Perry, The Mountain Goat and Dinosaur Jr.
Fun fact: Subterranean is home to Thursday nights' Reggae Gold and boasts the longest-running hip-hop open mic in the country.

If you're a lifelong learner like me, stop by this local book fair for a night of literacy hosted by some of βthe city's Black women booksellers including Call and Response Chi, Da Book Joint, Burst Into Books and Semicolon.
- Saturday 7-10pm at Kido Chicago in Hyde Park.
If you go: This free event is a chance to meet other book lovers, and an opportunity to shop local and support a small Black-owned business that just announced it will be closing for good on Dec. 23.
