Illinois Democrat incumbent Bill Foster wins reelection to the U.S. House

Democrat Rep. Bill Foster is returning to the U.S. House.

The big picture: Foster, who represents the 11th District, defeated his Republican challenger Jerry Evans, a teacher and music school owner.

Zoom in: Foster has represented the DuPage County district since 2013 and has been in Congress since 2008, previously representing Illinois' 14th District.

Foster benefited from the state's redrawn congressional map after the 2020 census, which made the 11th District majority Democratic voters.
He represents big cities like Aurora and Naperville.
