If your New Year's resolution is to get out more, head to one of Atlanta's NYE celebrations to ensure you're booked and busy for the first seconds of 2025.
The big picture: To ring in the New Year, a peach will drop, footballs will be thrown, and, just outside the metro, a building will implode.
π Peach Drop: Atlanta's answer to Time Square's Ball Drop is back to ring in 2025. The event β headlined by Big Boi and emceed by Ryan Cameron β kicks off at 6pm at Underground Atlanta.
πͺΆ Gatsby's Penthouse: Dress in your best [19]20s fashion for a flapper-themed party at Ventanas featuring live DJs, hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. Tickets start at $135.
πΈ Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall is hosting its 9th Annual Do Nuthin' New Year's Eve Party. There's no cover, a DJ starting at 9pm and a Champagne of Beers toast at midnight.
- Plus: There's the Do Nuthin' Deluxe happening at Ranger Station, where for $120 guests will get access to an open bar, reserved seating and food available to order to the table. RSVP on Resy.
π The Ivy grand finale: Your last chance to visit The Ivy in Buckhead before it permanently closes. Tickets to the rooftop party start at $20 and will include a midnight Champagne toast.
πΉοΈ Your 3rd Spot will host a Polynesian Paradise-themed celebration with live fire dances, tropical snacks and a midnight balloon drop. Tickets start at $70.
πͺ© Westside Motor Lounge: DJ Kemit & Salah Ananse will spin nothing but vinyl at the event, which promises singalong tracks and deep cuts as 2025 nears. More details.
π Underground Atlanta: Check out Gimme Gimme Disco: Abba tribute and United We Dance: The Ultimate Rave Experience at The Masquerade and the NYE Black & White Ball at The Pigalle.
π₯ UP on the Roof in Alpharetta kicks off its dance party with DJ Luc at 9pm, but you'll want to arrive early to get in on the hors d'Εuvres and food stations. Tickets start at $75.

π Zoo Year's Eve at Zoo Atlanta from 10am-3pm will include countdowns to the New Year every hour, crafts, photo ops and a DJ, magic show and puppet show. Free with general admission.
βΎ The Battery Atlanta will ring in 2025 with its annual New Year's Eve Bash. There's a celebration and early countdown with an inflatable baseball drop from 6-8pm, and a traditional late-night show beginning at 9pm, with fireworks at midnight.
π The Roof at Ponce City Market is hosting its annual Noon Year's Eve celebration from 10am-5pm. Tickets for all ages are $25 and include games, a three-story slide and hot chocolate. Add $10 for ice skating.
π₯ Hotel implosion
Head to Macon on New Year's Day, where city officials will be "starting the New Year with a bang," as Mayor Lester Miller puts it.
- At 9am, crews will begin the implosion of a 16-story abandoned hotel.
- A viewing party begins at 8am at Coleman Hill. Bring your own chairs and blankets, city leaders advise.

π New Year's Day bowl games
Sugar Bowl: UGA will play in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, which serves as the College Football Playoff quarterfinal, in New Orleans on New Year's Day. Kickoff is at 8:45pm ET on ESPN.
- What we're watching: Quarterback Carson Beck, who is contending with an elbow injury, will not play in the Sugar Bowl, ESPN reported Thursday.
- What's next: Friday night's match between Notre Dame and Indiana will determine UGA's opponent in the bowl game.

Peach Bowl: For an at-home bowl game, head to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl at 1pm on New Year's Day.
- It starts at 1pm. Arizona State will play the winner of the Dec. 21 game between Clemson and Texas.
