We've all been there before — at an airport, tired after a long flight and searching for the rideshare pickup area. Uber hopes to simplify that experience.

What's happening: The rideshare giant announced Tuesday that it's adding step-by-step instructions within its app to navigate travelers from the plane to their Uber pickup zone.

The handy feature — which will include directions and accompanying photos — will be available at more than 30 airports worldwide to start, including Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Why it matters: MIA expects spring break travel to set passenger records this month, and trips to and from the airport represent around 15% of Uber's total rideshare bookings.

Passenger totals at MIA in January and February were both all-time highs for those months.

February saw a total of 4.1 million passengers, or an average of nearly 150,000 per day — a 7% increase from February 2022 and a 5% increase from February 2020. 

Details: As part of the announcement, Uber also said it'll soon roll out "walking ETAs" at more than 400 airports, so travelers can more accurately know when to call for a ride and cut down on their wait times.

The company's expanding its reservation feature in several cities as well to include more ride types.

What they're saying: "Travel is already so unpredictable and such a load on people's minds, especially when traveling with family and kids," Jen You, head of product for rides at Uber, tells Axios. "We want ride logistics to be the easiest part of your day."

The 1970s San Francisco Muni streetcar that's been for sale on Craigslist since the start of the year has a new home.

What's happening: It's headed north to Geyserville, the Chronicle reports.

The new owners plan to place the 70-foot car on their 56-acre property and restore it for people to rent for overnight stays or special events.

What they're saying: "We definitely don't want to keep this to ourselves. We want other people to experience it," one of the owners, Lauryn Guridi, told the Chronicle.

Of note: An Instagram account (@camp_muni) is already live, so you can follow along with the restoration process.

My thought bubble: The Wall Street Journal recently rated SFO the best large airport in America, and I totally agree. It's clean, the food's great, and for the most part, it's easy to navigate.

My one beef is its rideshare pickup area. Or, the lack of instructions for getting there. No matter how often I travel, I'm always slightly confused.

I'm looking forward to finding that random, bottom-level passageway easier next time I fly!

It saddens me to say, so I'll just get this out of the way — today is my last day at Axios and soon, my family and I will be leaving San Francisco.

What's happening: I know you've heard this story before, many times. San Francisco is a transient place, and over the last few years, that's sped up.

We have our issues as a city and things — like the crazy cost of living — that make this a tough place to live (let alone raise a family).

Could we have made it work here? Yes. But for now, we're going to try somewhere new.

Yes, but: After 12-plus years of living here, I've learned there are far more magical parts to San Francisco than faults.

Ingrained in its soul, San Francisco is a land of opportunity, and I'll miss its contagious spirit.

Its food is world class, its parks are wondrous and its weather is almost always perfect for a sweater.

The people, especially my friends, are what I'll miss most, though. We're an interesting and loving bunch, us San Franciscans, and not easily replaceable.

Flashback: Some two years ago, while stuck at home during the pandemic, I started sending an email newsletter to friends and family that covered important and interesting stories about San Francisco.

The city was changing so quickly at the time, and I felt we needed an easy way to stay on top of local news.

Other people thought so too, and soon that newsletter (The SF Minute) had thousands of subscribers.

Later, I joined forces with Axios and together with Megan, launched Axios San Francisco.

The bottom line: Starting The SF Minute (and continuing on with Axios SF) was my small effort to help make this city a better place. And hopefully, by keeping people up to speed with the news, it helped.

I'm forever grateful that you, dear reader, followed along.

What's next: If there's one thing I've learned, it's that San Francisco is never short on stories.

I can't wait to keep reading what Megan and our soon-to-be-named second reporter are able to unearth each morning.

Meanwhile, my family and I are headed to the Midwest (where my wife grew up) and kid No. 2 is scheduled for June.
