An estimated 850,000 people packed downtown Seattle yesterday to celebrate the Seahawks' Super Bowl championship, turning the city into a sea of blue and green.
Driving the news: Players and coaches rode a convoy through a channel of cheering fans lining the two-mile route along Fourth Avenue from Lumen Field toward the Space Needle.

State of play: Fans crowded shoulder to shoulder, climbed trees, street signs, fences, lamp posts and even roofs to catch a glimpse of the Lombardi Trophy.
- One group even hauled a couch for blocks at dawn to catch a front-row seat.

What they did: Some players climbed from their parade transport to revel with fans — slapping hands, embracing supporters and soaking in the roar of the crowd.
- Blue and green confetti drifted through the air as players sprayed champagne into the crowd.

On the ground: The celebration wasn't just loud. It was seismic.
- Elevated seismic activity was recorded during the trophy ceremony and parade, according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.

- Harold Tobin of the seismic network told Axios the shaking wasn't as large as the famed "Beastquake," "Speedquake" or the "Swiftquake," but because the measurements were taken at Lumen Field — not along the parade route — they may not fully capture the intensity of the crowd downtown.

What they're saying: "We have the best team in the world," said linebacker Ernest Jones IV, echoing the mood of the day.
Yes, but: Those hoping to take the light rail to the festivities were met with a rude surprise when copper wire theft briefly knocked out power on the 1 Line between Angle Lake and Star Lake just as fans were heading downtown.
What's next: If the roar was any indication, Seattle already believes this team is just getting started — and plans to be right back here next year.
