Katie Wilson was sworn in as Seattle mayor on Friday, roughly two months after she unseated Bruce Harrell in the November election.
Zoom in: Wilson, a longtime progressive activist, spoke during her inaugural address about bringing innovation to City Hall, as well as making Seattle more livable.
I want to live in a city that honors the things you do when you're not making money ... I mean the time that you spend with your kid at the playground, caring for a sick friend or an elderly relative ... a city that thinks you should have time to read a book and lay on the grass staring up at the clouds.
