The highest paid Seattle Sounders earn more than $2 million a year, although most of their teammates make far less.
State of play: Midfielder Albert Rusnák leads the Sounders' payroll at about $2.6 million annually, followed by forward Jordan Morris at roughly $2.3 million, per the MLS Players Association's latest salary guide.
Rusnák and Morris are the 37th- and 42nd-highest paid Major League Soccer players, respectively, out of more than 850 in the league,
Four other Sounders make over $1 million per year: Jesús Ferreira, Cristian Roldán, Pedro de la Vega and Paul Arriola.
The big picture: Nationwide, the top earning MLS player is superstar Lionel Messi of Inter Miami, who has a guaranteed compensation of $20.4 million annually.
