Seattle's Broad Street Substation: an Art Moderne landmark

We were standing outside the Broad Street Substation, a Seattle City Light facility designed in the Art Moderne style, which is characterized by streamlined, horizontal and curving forms.

• The building — the work of Russian-born architect Ivan M. Palmaw — was designated a city landmark in 2019.
