For a free bit of holiday fun while you're wandering downtown this month, check out the Gingerbread Village at the Sheraton Grand Seattle on Sixth Avenue.
What to expect: This year's edition of the annual event features four gingerbread displays re-creating the skylines of four cities: London, Sydney, Paris and Agra, India.
Each uses sweets to depict notable landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, the Taj Mahal and the Sydney Opera House.

If you go: The event is free to enter, but you are encouraged to vote for your favorite gingerbread display by making a donation.
Contributions benefit the nonprofit Breakthrough T1D, which invests in type 1 diabetes research.
Stop by: You can visit the displays through Jan. 1 in the Sheraton lobby, located at 1400 Sixth Ave.
Hours are 9am-9pm Sunday through Thursday; 9am-11pm Friday and Saturday.
