It's time for the annual appearance of "faux spring," it seems, and that makes it a great weekend to get out and about. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
🚛 Compete in a quirky costume contest, try local beers or take a late polar bear plunge at the Alki Beach Winter Food Truck & Beer Festival on Saturday from 11am to 4:30pm.
- The $20 to $35 tickets support Special Olympics Washington.
🩰 Get your dance on with dynamic Dutch electronic music duo Sub Zero Project at Substation on Saturday at 10pm. Tickets are $30 but going fast.
🎻 Check out the Wintergrass Music Festival, featuring dances, workshops and performances of bluegrass and acoustic music on four stages at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Bellevue through Sunday.
- Tickets range from $25 for a student one-day pass to $190 for an all-events pass. Kids 12 and under are free.
🎸 Discover some of the area's younger musical talent at MoPop's all-ages Sound Off performance, featuring Sophia Shoshana, Joint Souls, Mason Derleth and Brannon Warn-Johnston on Saturday at 8pm.
- Tickets are $5–$15. Another showcase performance is scheduled for next weekend.
🐲 Celebrate the Year of the Dragon on Saturday at the annual Lunar New Year Celebration in the Chinatown-International District, where you can take a food walk, watch a K-pop performance, see a martial arts demonstration and much more.
- Saturday from around 11am to 4pm. Free.
📽️ Watch flicks at the 12th Annual Seattle Asian American Film Festival remotely or in person at the Northwest Film Forum Thursday through March 3. Ticket and pass prices vary.
🍒 Honor "Twin Peaks" Day on Sunday with a trip to North Bend, Snoqualmie and Fall City, the setting for the surreal fictional crime drama.
- Most aficionados of the show will want to include a visit to Snoqualmie Falls, a walk across Reinig Bridge and a slice of cherry pie from Twede's Cafe in their travels.
