SLC weekend events: Fairs, festivals and all the art

It's a big weekend in Salt Lake.

State of play: The Utah State Fair is underway, haunted houses are opening for the season — and there are lots of other events around town.

🛶 At the Plein Air Riverfest, shop for art and then enjoy music, dancing and food at the Salty Jams community concert for the Great Salt Lake.

When: 6pm-9pm Friday
Where: Utah Cultural Celebration Center, West Valley City

🎨 The Sugar House Art Walk tours neighborhood businesses with live music, handcrafted art and new friends to make.

When: 6pm-9pm Friday

🌎 Draper's annual International Arts and Crafts Fest brings 150 artisans and artists to Draper Park for family activities, live performances and shopping.

When: 10am-4pm Saturday

🎉 The Avenues Street Fair brings art, entertainment and activities to 8th Avenue in the heart of one of SLC's oldest neighborhoods.

When: 9am-6pm Saturday

🇮🇹 Buongiorno! The annual Festa Italiana is giving the Gateway the "boot" with entertainment and food all weekend.

When: Noon to 10pm Saturday and noon to 7pm Sunday
