How to plan for Thanksgiving travel delays in Utah

Travelers should expect minor delays on the road Wednesday as Utahns head out for Thanksgiving, per the Utah Department of Transportation.

Driving the news: A record 80 million Americans are set to travel for the holiday this year, according to AAA projections, Axios' Sareen Habeshian writes.

That's an increase of 1.7 million people from last year's record-shattering figure.
TSA is preparing for the busiest Thanksgiving travel period on record, expecting to screen 18.3 million people from Tuesday, Nov. 26 to Monday, Dec. 2.

State of play: In Salt Lake County, drivers should anticipate delays of up to 15 minutes on southbound I-15 from 3-7pm.

There will be up to 10-minute delays for people traveling through northbound I-15 in Davis County between 4-6pm.
UDOT will halt most road projects for the holiday week.
