Asher Adams hotel to open in Salt Lake City's historic Union Pacific Depot

The new 225-room hotel at the 100-year-old-plus Union Pacific Depot in Salt Lake City is slated to open on Oct. 31.
The big picture: The Asher Adams hotel is situated in a rapidly growing area of Salt Lake City, near the site of the planned sports and entertainment hub that will anchor the state's NBA and NHL teams.
State of play: The eight-story hotel will house a New American restaurant, coffee shop, market, fitness center, three bars and 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
- Each room will be named after well-known train engines and railroad terms.
- One bar, No. 119, will be "whiskey-forward," while the other, The Bar at Asher Adams, is a "nostalgic" cocktail lounge, according to the hotel's website.
Between the lines: The hotel is "an ode to the transformative era of American Railroad," per a press release and its name derives from John Asher and George Adams, the first cartographers to draft railroad routes.
- The property was built by luxury developers Athens Group and Hatteras Sky.
- It's part of a group of luxury hotels under Marriott's Autograph Collection.
By the numbers: Guests can stay at the hotel starting on Nov. 17, per the hotel's website. Rooms range from $239 to $1,792 a night.
