Utah Hockey Club tickets are big sellers

The new Utah Hockey Club approaches Tuesday night's season opener with some of the NHL's hottest tickets.

By the numbers: With home tickets selling for an average of $154 via Vivid Seats, the team is the ticket reseller's sixth most in-demand this season.

Tuesday's inaugural face-off against the Chicago Blackhawks is the league's fifth-hottest ticket this week, with an average resale price of $252, according to data Vivid shared with Axios.
The team's Oct. 12 match against the Rangers in New York is the second-hottest ticket of the week and the fourth-hottest ticket of the season at $268.

The other side: Utah's ranking is lower in StubHub's resale data, which shows the team debuted as the 15th best-selling squad by ticket volume this season, Axios' Maxwell Millington reports.

Zoom out: Fans are traveling from 19 states to catch Utah's home games.

They are traveling 329 miles, on average, to watch the Utah Hockey Club this season, Vivid Seats found — a far greater distance than the 244 miles traveled by fans of the beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.

The big picture: Toronto is Vivid's most in-demand team, with an average resale price of $231.

For cumulative tickets sold, StubHub ranks Toronto at No. 2, with the Blackhawks selling the most tickets.
