Portland can be a sleepy city. Many businesses (and some residents) go to bed before 9pm, making it difficult for night owls to find a good meal that isn't fast food.
The big picture: Luckily, there are still some great late-night options. You just need to know where to look.
Here are 10 spots worth going out of your way for when the midnight munchies hit.
Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen (835 SW 2nd Ave.)
Open till 11pm
Slurp down generous bowls of five-spice pho, crunch on a crispy roll — filled with ground pork, taro, jicama and rice noodles — or grab a lemongrass grilled chicken banh mi to go.
Baby Doll Pizza (2835 SE Stark St.)
Open till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays
Known for their huge slices of authentic New York-style pizza. Always get a side of garlic knots.

Located beneath the Multnomah Whiskey Lounge, this speakeasy-style establishment has a sophisticated happy hour that starts at 9pm — offerings include shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad, plus a meat and cheese board.
Ruthie's at The End (3532 SE Division St.)
Open till midnight
This fan-favorite food cart recently moved indoors but still offers seasonal-inspired dishes like turnip salad with strawberries and pickled green garlic, as well as a pork coppa with crispy alliums.
Tulip Shop Tavern (825 N. Killingsworth St.)
Open till 1am on weekends
Beloved for its smash burgers and rotating special sandwiches, don't skip on the queso and fries either.

With an expansive menu of burritos, tacos, seafood and even vegan options, you can't go wrong with making a stop here.
