French-inspired bistro L'Échelle, co-founded by the late chef Naomi Pomeroy, opens its brick-and-mortar restaurant inside the former Woodsman Tavern on SE Division today.
State of play: It's one of the most anticipated openings so far this year, as executive chef Mika Paredes and business partner Luke Dirks plan to expand the restaurant's offerings after retiring the acclaimed pop-up last year.
Best bites: Expect a rotating menu filled with French fare, ranging from snacks like rabbit pate and chicken schnitzel to heartier items such as steak frites with sauce au poivre.
If you go:L'Échelle (4537 SE Division St.) is open 5-10pm, walk-ins only for now.
Pro tip: Head to neighboring sister scoop shop, Cornet Custard, after your meal.
