Oregonians had until 8pm on Tuesday to place their ballots in an official dropbox or have them postmarked by Election Day to be counted.
Why it matters: Even though the presidential race is all but locked in for left-leaning Oregon, there are several other hotly contested local races and statewide initiatives to watch.
Zoom in: Former Democratic state Rep. Maxine Dexter is facing off against Republican Joanna Harbour to represent Oregon's 3rd Congressional District in Washington, D.C. It's a solidly Democratic district that covers the east side of Portland out to Hood River.
- Republican U.S. Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer will try to defend her seat against Democratic challenger state Rep. Janelle Bynum in Oregon's 5th Congressional District race — one that could decide the fate of the House.
Between the lines: Oregon voters will also decide who will be elected to several open statewide offices, including secretary of state, attorney general and treasurer.
The intrigue: Portland voters will decide their next mayor and who will occupy the 12 new seats on the City Council via ranked choice voting for the first time.
