Future Days is Northern Liberties' best new beer stop

Future Days Beer Company officially opens its doors in Northern Liberties today, and even if you're feeling brewery-ed out, it should vault to the top of your list.

What to expect: An opening beer list with nothing over 6% ABV, perfect for those hoping to prolong their sipping session. They've got their namesake kölsch on deck, along with a handful of crushable pale ales.

"We're probably the first brewery in Philadelphia to open in a while without an IPA," co-owners Sean McGuire and Nick Mata joked with Axios.
They plan to fill out their 10 tap lines over the weeks to come, with no styles off-limits. One forthcoming offering is an altbier, tweaking their kölsch for the winter months.

The space: The first floor has the brewing space and a smaller bar, while the second floor features the main bar, plenty of seating and a vintage pool table.

Some cool character: the tables are made from lumber sourced from old Northern Liberties factories by Manayunk Timber.
Patrons can bring their own food — Suya Suya, anyone? — and they plan to bring by food trucks soon. When the weather gets warmer, McGuire and Mata hope to open an outdoor patio space in front of the brewery as well.

If you go: Try Levee, their Citra cryo-hopped New England pale ale. Complex enough to please any Monk's regular, but still accessible to the hop-haters.
