"The Daily Show" comedian trolls Philadelphia's courtesy towing

How it works: Police, private towing companies contracted by the city or the Philadelphia Parking Authority will move legally parked vehicles at no expense to the owners to make way for construction, special events, utility work or emergencies.

Yes, but: Owners have shared horror stories about being unable to find their vehicles after they've been courtesy towed, or tracking them to illegal parking spots where they're ticketed.

What they're saying: One man told Kosta about a courtesy tow experience in which his car was nearly auctioned off after being impounded.

• "Did you park like s--t?" Kosta asked. "Just be honest."

The comedian also visited PPA's headquarters in search of answers to his questions about the practice, but was denied an interview.

• "I got courtesy towed out of there," Kosta said.
