OK, so he's not exactly a professor, but former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson will teach at the University of Arkansas School of Law as an executive in residence, the university announced.
State of play: Hutchinson, who practiced law after graduating from the state's law school in 1975, will teach a spring course on leadership in state and federal government.
Background: Well before Hutchinson served two terms as governor, former President Ronald Reagan appointed him U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, making him the youngest person in the nation to hold such a post.
He also served in Congress before going on to be the Drug Enforcement Administration director, and then undersecretary of homeland security for Border and Transportation Security under former President George W. Bush.
Flashback: The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported in March that U of A trustees said they would consider Hutchinson to replace president Donald Bobbitt when Bobbitt's tenure ends at the end of 2025.
