Nashville weekend events: Lainey Wilson, Comicon and more

Several events are planned in Nashville this weekend.

ğŸŽ¬ Flashback to 1999: The Belcourt's film series celebrating movies released in 1999 starts Friday.

  • Mayor Freddie O'Connell will introduce the Friday night screening of Paul Thomas Anderson's epic "Magnolia," which starts at 7:30pm.

🤠 Listen to country music: Lainey Wilson is headlining a concert at Ascend Amphitheater on Friday and Saturday.

🦸 Nashville Comicon: A two-day convention celebrating superheroes, comics, gaming and pop culture is coming to the fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday.

  • Many special guests are expected, including actor Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor on "Smallville."

📚 Storytime for kids: Parnassus Books will host authors Maggie and Rosalind Bunn for a reading of their children's book "All Aboard, Tennessee" on Sunday at 10:30am.

  • "All Aboard, Tennessee" tells the story of a boy riding a train through Tennessee's beautiful landscapes from the Appalachian Mountains to Graceland.
