Love letter from a Rangers fan

👋 Axios editor Tyler Buchanan back again, the biggest Texas Rangers fan in the Eastern time zone.

• The older I get, the more I appreciate that glorious 2023 Rangers season in the sun.

Reality check: Watching two forgettable seasons since then has offered some real perspective.

• It's tough to have a winning season, much less take home the championship trophy.

Between the lines: That's especially true in our current era of Dodger dominance, which isn't ending anytime soon.

• Texas remains the last non-Dodger team to win a title. I feel weirdly proud of that.

Sure, I hoped 2023 would lead to our own dynasty of success.

• It hasn't worked out that way, but the Rangers are gearing up for another year of contention, and that's all I can really ask for.

In the meantime, I'm still basking in the glow and am ready for another Opening Day.
