FC Dallas will begin the 2026 season this weekend with several new players and a slightly higher valuation than last year.
The big picture: FC Dallas is valued around $555 million this year — 27th in the 30-team league, per a Sportico estimate.
That's a 3% increase since last season, but four spots lower.
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi's Inter Miami is the highest-valued MLS team at $1.45 billion.
Yes, but: FC Dallas isn't scheduled to play Miami, the defending MLS Cup champions, this season.
They will play the Vancouver Whitecaps twice. The teams faced off in the first round of last year's playoffs before the Whitecaps eventually advanced to the MLS Cup Final.
Players to watch: Forward Petar Musa was named the team's most valuable player last year and helped Croatia qualify for the World Cup.
Herman Johansson, who helped the Swedish club Mjällby AIF win its first Allsvenskan championship last year, is one of FC Dallas' new players this season.
The team also picked up forward Ricky Louis width the second overall pick of last year's draft. The Florida native went from joining Georgia Southern University's men's soccer team as a walk-on to becoming the program's first-ever MLS draft pick.
