Our local sports teams may test your circadian rhythm this year with their international travels.
State of play: Playing abroad for the first time, TCU's football team will kick off their season in Dublin on Aug. 29. The Horned Frogs will serve as the home team against Bill Belichick and the University of North Carolina.
In October, the Dallas Mavericks will travel to Macao for two preseason games against the Houston Rockets, the team announced this week.
The Dallas Cowboys, who have only played a regular season game abroad once, in London, could play in Mexico City next season.
Between the lines: The Mavericks' games in Macao may not be a coincidence.
The team's casino operating owners have ties to Sands China, which owns the destination and casino resort where the games will be held.
Flashback: The Mavericks and Detroit Pistons played a regular season game in Mexico City last year as part of the NBA's Global Games initiative.
What they're saying: "This is more than just a football game. It's an opportunity to advance TCU's brand globally while having our student-athletes experience a unique educational opportunity and memory of a lifetime," TCU athletics director Mike Buddie said in a statement.
