Prepare for more closures and detours at DFW Airport for the next three months as the airport reconfigures its terminal exits.
The big picture: The airport's road construction is part of a $12 billion capital plan that includes the opening of a sixth terminal.
The latest: The airport opened a new right-side exit for Terminal B this week, two weeks ahead of schedule.
Terminal A and C will also get right-side exits, but in phases. The Terminal A phase started this week and is expected to stretch through the holiday travel period, the airport says.
What to expect: Starting tomorrow, Terminal A will only be accessible via the southbound entrance from International Parkway.
The current Terminal A bridge will be demolished early next week.
Terminal A parking will be accessed through the lower-level garage entrance.
Terminal B only has the South Exit open to International Parkway. People who would normally take the North Exit will need to make a U-turn to go northbound on International Parkway.
Pro tip: The airport recommends arriving at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights.
The bottom line: Slow down, pay attention to the signs and keep your road rage in check.
