A downtown Garland pizzeria is continuing our favorite U.S. tradition of arguing over which part of the country makes the best pizza.
The intrigue: Fortunate Son serves New Haven-style pizza — a toasted, chewy flat crust topped with a lot of sauce and not a lot of cheese. The restaurant serves a clam pizza, like a true pizzeria from Connecticut.
The original is sauce heavy without mozzarella. It doesn't rely on dairy to delight.
What to expect: The restaurant has a large beer garden and feels similar to its sister restaurant in East Dallas.
The wait can be long on a weekend, but there are plenty of shops to visit in the downtown square.
Axios Dallas reader Chris W. argues it's the best pizza in Dallas. We're inclined to agree.
