The Cubs are throwing it back to 1876 β with a few modern-day perks, including a new cookie.
- This year marks the Cubs' 150th anniversary as a National League franchise, and the team is celebrating the milestone with a history-packed weekend at Wrigley Field on Aug. 29-30.
Why now: The team became a charter member of the National League in 1876 and went on to win six of the league's first 11 pennants.
- A century and a half later, the franchise has 17 N.L. pennants, three World Series titles and generations of memories at the Friendly Confines.
βΎ What's on tap: The Cubs 150th Anniversary Celebration is Saturday, Aug. 29.
- The Cubs 150th Anniversary Team, presented by motorola razr, will be recognized during a pregame ceremony with over 20 members in attendance representing some of the most accomplished and influential players in franchise history.
- At Gallagher Way, fans can sign a replica of the Cubs' 1876 championship banner, which will then be displayed at the ballpark to commemorate the anniversary.
Even better: Memorabilia from different eras of Cubs history will be on display in the motorola razr room at Gallagher Way throughout the rest of the season.
πͺ Plus, plus, plus: The winning cookie from the Cubs 150th Cookie Challenge makes its Wrigley Field debut on Aug. 29.
- Find it at the Marquee Classics concessions stand near section 117 and the AbbVie 1914 Club through the end of the season.
Next up: The nostalgia continues during the August 30 game presented by Harvey, as the Cubs Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will be honored on the field during a pregame ceremony.
- Former catcher Jody Davis and pitcher Jon Lester will be inducted into the Cubs Hall of Fame, along with former broadcaster Vince Lloyd, who will also receive the new Lifetime Achievement Award.
- Fans can check out the newly unveiled Hall of Fame plaques at the Budweiser Bleacher concourse, including one honoring the 150th Anniversary Team.
πTake note: The first 10,000 fans to enter the ballpark on Aug. 30 will receive Cubs Hall of Fame pins presented by Harvey.
