Tickets go on sale this week for a new interactive show in Chicago's Lincoln Park.
The big picture: CELESTIA features projections and an orchestral soundtrack meant to accentuate the Romanesque and Gothic architecture of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Driving the news: Tickets for CELESTIA go on sale on Wednesday at 10am and the show opens on Nov. 20.
State of play: Friday and Saturday performances will include a live choir.
- The start time of each show depends on sunset time to allow the natural exterior light to interact with the projections inside.
- Each show runs 30-45 minutes.
What they're saying: "We were drawn to these churches for their extraordinary architecture, history, and the sense of wonder they inspire. Their spiritual significance is also part of what makes them special," Kurt Baker from Paquin Entertainment Group, CELESTIA's producer, tells Axios.
Zoom out: The show had its world premiere at Denver's St. John's Cathedral in September.
- It opens at the Cathedral of St. James in Toronto on Nov. 6.
If you go: CELESTIA runs through Jan. 31 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Lincoln Park. Tickets start at $24.
🪑Pro-tip: Visitors to Denver's performances recommended on Reddit sit in the back of the church to get a more expansive view.
