After 2024's miserable season, no one expected the biggest attraction at Rate Field to be actual baseball by 2026, but the AL Central first-place White Sox are astounding everyone.
- Some new food and promotions starting this weekend are adding even more reasons to check out the South Siders.
The food: Axios recently tried several new items at a press preview, including:
- The soon-to-go-viral Muneshot sushi push pop ($22) in flavors of shrimp tempura or California crunch with crab sticks, avocado, cucumber and spicy mayo, served in Lucky's section 154 and on carts at 100 and 500 levels.
- The beef birria machete, a long crispy quesadilla with Oaxacan cheese, onions and cilantro, is served in the machete station 111.
- Bulgogi egg rolls with barbecued beef and kimchi aioli in the club level.
- Frozen mangonadas featuring a mango smoothie with chamoy and Tajín in the Leinenkugel Craft Lodge.
- Hot Ones wings on Aug. 23 will be available as part of a promotion with "Hot Ones" host Sean Evans. Fans can also purchase a special jersey and access to a pre-game party.
The verdict: Monica loved pushing up the fresh, tasty California crunch sushi, but warns folks to be judicious with the soy sauce.
- When it came to texture and flavor, though, she adored the birria machete and bulgogi egg rolls.
