Cubs Convention: 2016 World Series team reunites in Chicago

While all eyes are on Soldier Field this Sunday, downtown will host another huge event: A reunion of the 2016 Chicago Cubs.

The big picture: The 2026 Cubs Convention is a Chicago mainstay, featuring all sorts of team-themed events, panels and experiences, but none more anticipated than a 10-year reunion Saturday featuring some of the stars who brought the North Siders their only World Series championship in over a century.

The 2016 squad also holds a special place in fans' hearts for their fun energy, which included everything from a spring training petting zoo to an appearance on Saturday Night Live.

Who will be there: Almost everyone, including manager Joe Maddon, Jon Lester, Kyle Hendricks, Jason Heyward, Ben Zobrist, Addison Russell, Dexter Fowler, Pedro Strop, Miguel Montero, Anthony Rizzo and former manager David Ross.

Who may not be there: Players who are still playing for other teams like Javy Baez, Kyle Schwarber and Aroldis Chapman. But never say never, since these events usually add last-minute attendees.

What we're watching for: Will Jason Heyward recite his infamous locker room speech from the rain delay during Game 7 of the World Series? Will Joe Maddon arrive in an RV? Will Jon Lester finally throw to first base?

The bottom line: I guess you'll have to be there to find out. The lucky ones will let us know, since the convention is sold out.
