Holiday shopping is in full swing. We asked readers which local shops they frequent for the most unique gifts.
Here's what you told us:

The MCA Store, the Museum of Contemporary Art gift shop — Lizzie B.
Penelope's and Gemini are two fantastic stores in West Town / Wicker Park that have clothing, candles, bags, cards and other gifts. They're owned by locals Joe and Jena Lauer, and their picks are always unique, well-made, and super stylish, which makes them perfect for gifting! — Maria M.
My favorite gift shop in Chicago is P.O.S.H. The owners shop antique/flea markets in Europe, sell glassware, silver serving pieces, books, gourmet food, soaps, kitchen towels, toys, Christmas ornaments, old maps, plates, Chicago-themed items, barware ... well everything. The windows at the front of the store are magical and will remind you of the Marshall Field's windows from the glory days. — Terry P.
Check out Hazel, a wonderful gift shop on Montrose. — Marla K.
Virtu in Bucktown is a great local store. Great variety of gifts and price ranges. The jewelry by local designers is amazing. — Brenda R.
Rep Chi has a wonderful assortment of Chicago-themed items. Great for gifts or yourself. Locally owned and super helpful staff! — Lynn A.
The greatest gift store ever is the Andersonville Galleria. Their assortment, uniqueness of product, style, affordability and ease of shopping make it one of the best places to find that "perfect" gift! — Michael M.

I usually buy a couple of pies from Bittersweet Bakery when friends invite me over for holiday dinners. Bittersweet also sells gifts that pair well with housewarming gifts, like cocktail napkins or elevated candles, from brands I like, like Meri Meri. — Christian M.
Not a gift store but I think this is a great friend or couples gift idea: a candle making class at Embers Apothecary in South Loop. Plus it's BYOB!
My favorite bookstore is Call & Response Books (they also sell beautiful cards and candles to round out the gift) and for those friends who don't mind gently used books, I love Open Books.

My favorite gift shop/knick knack shop is Silver Room in Hyde Park. Fun cards, accessories and Chicago-specific merch too. — Ariana V.
The Jackson Junge Gallery is an art gallery showcasing local artists and offering reproductions, prints, jewelry and crafts at affordable prices (starting from under $50). Best part: you can also support a thriving local artistic community. — Elena B.
The Fig Tree on Madison is perfect for holiday, hosting, and new baby gifts! And they have the best cards! — Chloe K.
There is a great little place in downtown Park Ridge, right next to the Pickwick Theater, called Raffia. Great selection of unique items, terrific staff and owner. — Kevin S.
Enjoy: An Urban General Store in Lincoln Square and Andersonville. You can find something for EVERYone here! Thoughtful gifts, funny gifts, and many Chicago-themed gifts — all within your budget. — Katie R.
Geppetto's Toy Box. Old school toy store with unique toys for kids of all ages. Great service and free gift wrapping! Alioto's Gift Shop. More great service in this shop with everything from fine china and porcelain to tchotchkes. — Arum C.

Buddy in the Cultural Center with a wide array of Chicago-centric gifts.

Nice Lena in Evanston makes custom-designed mugs, necklaces, tea towels, ornaments and more. Think Walgreens gifts designed by your funky aunt.
