"Warren Zevon is in my Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Actually, his own wing."

Warren Zevon became a music legend while living in Los Angeles, but he was born in Chicago — the son of a Mormon mother and a father with mob ties.
Driving the news: Zevon's longtime friend David Letterman inducted the "Werewolves of London" singer during a ceremony at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater on Saturday night.
What they're saying: "I have never talked to somebody who pretty much understood within a short period of time they would be leaving the planet," Letterman said of Zevon, who died of cancer in 2003.
"It was difficult. I thought Warren was grateful and happy, kind. He worked very hard."
How to watch: The 2025 Rock Hall ceremony is available to stream on Disney+.
