Drama queens and theater kids will find ham and glam to spare at a new pop bar in the Virgin Hotel.
Driving the news: The Broadway Sing-Along Bar opened earlier this month, offering musical-themed drinks, cabaret seating, a glitzy karaoke stage and Broadway backdrops for photo ops.
How it works: I grabbed my cocktail (included in the ticket), hung out on the breezy terrace, enjoyed a drag performance of "Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and was the first to sign up for karaoke at 9pm.
- Yes, I killed it with "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from "Jesus Christ Superstar" even if some of the younger theater peeps didn't know it as well as they should.
🎤 Note: Most of the singers were clearly well-practiced hams, but even if you're not, this crowd is here to support, not judge.
👗 Dress up: Many folks come clad as their musical muses, but you won't feel out of place if you don't.
