Anti-Trump rallies return to Chicago Saturday with a Taylor Swift Eras-themed event in Portage Park at 9:30am and an Indivisible rally in Millennium Park at 11am.
Why it matters: Called "Fight the Trump Takeover," this weekend's nationwide demonstrations protest Texas redistricting, a fight that involves Illinois as a haven state for Texas lawmakers who left to avoid voting on a remap.
State of play: The movement is backed by dozens of organizations, including Planned Parenthood and the Democratic National Committee.
- About 200 events were scheduled in 34 states as of yesterday, according to organizers.
