Bite Club: Shrimp, kimchi dumplings at Joong Boo

My favorite hidden grocery store, Joong Boo Market in Peterson Park, recently opened a dumpling window that makes shopping there even more delightful.
- The market is tucked away near the back of Montrose Cemetery at 5800 N. Pulaski Road.
The bites: The shrimp & pork ($7.95 for five) and kimchi wang ($4.95) dumplings.
The verdict: The shrimp and pork dumplings emerge like noodly burritos with little tails that act as perfect handles.
- The fist-size kimchi wang buns offer a warm, spicy hug on the gloomiest Chicago day.
The bonus: Joong Boo also features a housewares and clothing section where a short, half-Asian lady can finally find pants that fit her.
- I snagged a snazzy pair of navy blue pants with just the right length and enough stretch for plenty of dumpling eating.
