The iCRYO wellness spa is redefining how locals recharge and improve their physical and mental health.
Why it matters: More people are carving out time to prioritize their well-being and are willing to invest in lifestyle spaces that offer services targeted to detox your body, ease anxiety and reduce muscle pain after exercise.
What to expect: Red light therapy, whole-body cryotherapy, infrared sauna, compression therapy, body sculpting and IV therapy are all available.
If you go: iCRYO's first Chicago location is at 1130 W. Granville Ave. in Edgewater.
- It's open Monday–Friday 8am–8pm, Saturday 9am–6pm and Sunday 10am–4pm.
- Individual services start at $59.
How it works: Most services range from 30 to 60 minutes.
- Whole body cryotherapy involves entering a shower-like chamber that pumps in air as cold as -145 to -175 degrees to help blood circulation.
- Compression therapy helps you recover from inflammation or muscle pain by increasing blood flow to the muscles.
- iV fusion and iM shots are a concoction of vitamins to help with everything from hydration to exhaustion and take anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes.

My thought bubble: After my experience, I walked away feeling completely recharged. I'm also impressed with the in-house nurses who can provide additional information.
- I recommend their infrared sauna, and if you're looking to kick-start a new healthy way of living, the Seca scale body composition analysis is a great start.
