Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer which means there are plenty of ways to ease into summertime Chi.
💪 Millennium Park free fitness classes
- If you're looking to save money, get a great workout, and maybe even make some new friends, enjoy this free workout series.
- Every Saturday at 8am for 45 minutes at Millennium Park through Aug. 30.
If you go: Bring your own workout mat and don't forget the sunscreen and a water bottle!
- Free.
- Jam to the live music series at the beer garden and get an up close view of the city's first fireworks display of the season on Saturday.
- Friday and Saturday 4:30-9:45pm and Sunday 3-8:15pm now through Sept. 1 at Navy Pier.
- Free.
🎊 AANHPI Heritage Month Celebration
- Celebrate the rich culture of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders with live performances, food and activities for everyone.
- Saturday 2pm at Pacifica Square in Aurora.
- Free but reserve tickets.
- Give some love to your favorite beef joint or follow the lead of fellow Axios Chicago readers who voted on who has the best!
- Specials for the holiday: Buona Beef has $7.99 sandwich and fries and Portillo's has buy 1, get 1 free for all perk members.
- Dance at one of the largest Latino music celebrations in the country, headlined this year by Shakira.

- Forget baseball and cheer on the Stars.
- Saturday 6:30pm at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview.

🏙️ Chicago History Museum neighborhood tours
- Tour the colorful Paseo Boricua and Humboldt Park on Saturday at 10am and Sheffield/DePaul on Sunday at noon to learn the history and culture of the neighborhoods.
- Tickets are $25 and include free admission to the museum in Old Town.
- Experience art by Black male artists and enjoy live performances.
- Sunday 3-9pm at Zhou B Art Center in Bridgeport.
- Tickets start at $30.
