The Score names Leila Rahimi as midday co-host after Dan Bernstein exit

Chicago's sports radio "The Score" announced Leila Rahimi will replace former host Dan Bernstein on its popular midday talk program.

The latest: Rahimi, who has been filling in since Bernstein's departure in March, joins co-host Marshall Harris for the "Rahimi and Harris" show, which will air weekdays from 10am to 2pm.

The big picture: While women have co-hosted sports talk shows before, this move makes Rahimi the first female, full-time, primetime, lead sports radio host in Chicago history.

What they're saying: "The support The Score listeners have shown over the years has meant the world to me, and I'm looking forward to spending more time with them every day from 10 to two o'clock," Rahimi said in a release.

Zoom in: Rahimi joined The Score in 2017 and has served in multiple roles. In 2022, she was the first female main sports anchor at NBC 5.

"Leila is one of the hardest-working teammates at The Score and her knowledge of Chicago sports has made her a beloved voice among the city's fans," The Score's Mitch Rosen said.

Zoom out: She replaces Bernstein, who, after 30 years at the station, was dropped after a bizarre social media fight over a fish.
