Bears fortify trenches with free agent signings of Dalman and Jarrett

• Dalman is only 26 and started 40 games for the Falcons over the last three seasons.

Why it matters: Retooling the offensive line was a priority for new head coach Ben Johnson. Williams was sacked 68 times last year, good for the third most in a season in NFL history.

• Dalman joins Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson, who were traded for before free agency began, to anchor the Bears revamped offensive line.

• Jarrett was released Monday by the Falcons and quickly agreed to a 3-year, $43.5 million deal with the Bears, according to Schefter.
