As we head into turkey week, we know what everyone is really looking forward to: dessert.
- So this week we tried out some readers' suggestions for the best Thanksgiving desserts to buy around the city — excluding pumpkin pie.

Carrie tried Olivia O.'s suggestion of chocolate pumpkin cheesecake from the Chicago Diner ($9.50). Since the Diner is vegan/vegetarian friendly, this is not your traditional cheesecake and ends up tasting a little more like pie.
- It could use more of the fudge topping, but the bottom cookie crust surrounded by a nutmeg-ginger edge will satisfy your craving.
- 8" pies are $40 and are available for order now.

Monica tried the sour cherry pie ($24) from First Slice Pie Cafe, which reader Betsy S. suggested.
- I loved this tart, juicy pie with a perfectly flaky lattice crust.
- Pro tip: Warm it before you dig in.

Justin's pick: This may have been the hardest challenge in Food Fight history. Not selecting which dessert to review, but finding a place that was still taking pre-orders or had the recommended pie in stock.
- I followed your recommendations for Bittersweet, Aya, Spinning J, Taste 222 and Alliance Bakery to no avail.
So I'll go with my wife's pick (always a strong choice) which is the "Turduken of Pies" at Mindy's Bakery in Wicker Park.
- The pie has a graham cracker crust and combines pumpkin cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake ($50). Act fast though, today is the last day for ordering before Thanksgiving.
