The Grant Park Music Festival, led by artistic director and principal conductor Carlos Kalmar, along with the Grant Park Orchestra began its annual summer residency this week at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park.
- This is the festival's 90th season.
Flashback: The orchestra used to play at Petrillo Music Shell in Grant Park but moved just north to Millennium Park in 2004.
The bottom line: World-class music performed outdoors in a world-class park? Yes, please.
