Anyone who's tried to navigate West Lake Street in the past couple of months must be wondering about the status of the monster construction project that helped close it down.
What's happening: A brand-new stop is being built on the Green Line at Damen Avenue, as riders know well because of the slowdowns around the site.
Backstory: Then-Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the project in 2017, but the pandemic stalled construction until this fall.

State of play: F.H. Paschen is building the station, which will give access to much-needed transportation on the West Side.
Building nerds might want to check out the construction company's stunning video of the project on Instagram.
What's next: The Damen stop is set to open in mid-2024, just in time for the Democratic National Convention.
Editor's note: This story has been corrected to reflect that F.H. Paschen is building the station, not also designing it.
